Monaka is a type of Wagashi (“Japanese sweets”) consisting of Azuki sweet bean paste filling sandwiched between two shells made from mochi (rice). With these beautiful shells you can make your own Monaka, or fill them with ice cream or anything you want to make an original dessert! Can be used as Miso soup topping as well.
