In ideal conditions where abalone thrive, they yield crunchy texture when eaten raw, and become extremely tender with a meaty texture when cooked. This sashimi-grade abalone can be enjoyed raw as sashimi or sushi, but also good for steaming, poaching, pan-frying, stir-frying, and braising.
